Our program director, Dr. Roger A. de la Torre was one of the first surgeons to ever perform a Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Divided Gastric Bypass.  He was instrumental in developing a unique method for performing this procedure, which has been adopted by many bariatric surgeons nationwide.  Furthermore, he was among a select few surgeons involved in the Food and Drug Administration trials for the Adjustable Lap Band.  More recently, Dr. de la Torre became among the first surgeons in the Midwest to perform Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy and Single Site (Single Incision) Gastric Banding.
